Hamstring Injury Prevention in Soccer

Modern soccer requires fine planning and solid preparation. The increasing demands of play over the last few years have lead sports practitioners to design weekly training plans, paying great attention to detail in preparing their players for what we call a “worst case scenario”. Unfortunately, throughout the training process or match play a soccer player may get injured. Injuries in soccer have a negative impact on team performance and club finance. Hamstring injuries are considered to be the most predominant injuries leading to time loss in soccer.

In this short presentation, I share my thoughts on hamstring injury prevention in soccer, as this stands as one of the biggest debates that a lot of practitioners come across. How can we prevent hamstring injuries? How can we make our coaches happier? There is no magic formula but through my rationale, background and experience I will try to present my views on this topic.
